TPO Roof - NO Touch Electric Ground Wire Installation

TPO Roof - NO Touch Electric Ground Wire Installation

A prototype CAD design has been created with SketchUp and uploaded as a Free Share / Open Source Design in the 3D warehouse

TPO Roof - NO Touch Electric Ground Wire Installation

GAF TPO EverGuard 'strips" were fashioned around the Ground Wire attached to the rooftop communication equipment (Cable, Satellite, and Internet Antennas).  To keep the wire from rubbing holes in the roofing when the wind blows or from rain storms.  TPO strips (1in by 5in) were modified and welded to the existing TPO Roof surface to hold the Ground Wire 1 inch off the roof.  The modified NO Touch Electric Ground Wire attachments were placed 12 to 16 inches apart.

Part 5 Spring Clean HVAC Special

US Dept of Energy Suggestions for: Low- and no-cost energy-efficiency measures as it pertains to lowering electricity needs for an energy efficient facility operation.

There are some practices that aren’t just good, they’re the best. And the ideas below are based on best practices from leading ENERGY STAR partners who know how to trim their energy waste with nothing more invested than time and elbow grease. But remember … low-hanging fruit grows back quickly. Have a plan for how to monitor and maintain savings to avoid snapback.
  • Conduct a nighttime audit to find out what’s on afterhours that shouldn’t be.
  • Improve operations and maintenance practices by regularly checking and maintaining equipment to ensure it’s functioning efficiently.
  • Optimize start-up time, power-down time, and equipment sequencing.
  • Revise janitorial practices to reduce the hours that lights are turned on each day.
  • Perform monthly maintenance of heating and cooling equipment to guarantee efficient operation throughout the year.
  • Review and emphasize the financial and environmental results of a preventative maintenance program for major systems and components.
  • Set goals and a methodology to track and reward improvements.
  • Visually inspect insulation on all piping, ducting and equipment for damage (tears, compression, stains, etc.).

    • Tune up your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system with an annual maintenance contract. Even a new HVAC system, like a new car, will decline in performance without regular maintenance. A contract automatically ensures that your HVAC contractor will provide “pre-season” tune-ups before each cooling and heating season. Your chances of an emergency HVAC breakdown also decrease with regular maintenance.
    • Plug air leaks with weather stripping and caulking.
    • Install variable frequency drives (VFDs) and energy-efficient motors.
    • Balance air and water systems.
    • Install window films and add insulation or reflective roof coating to reduce energy consumption.
    • Upgrade and maintain heating and cooling equipment. Replace chlorofluorocarbon chillers, retrofit or install energy-efficient models to meet a building’s reduced cooling loads, and upgrade boilers and other central plant systems to energy-efficient standards.
