2010 EXHIBITORS & SPONSORS!
On Saturday, September 25, 2010, Grandel Square, the urban home of the Missouri Botanical Garden's EarthWays Center, will become a "green street promenade" of informative exhibitors, more than 90 vendors showcasing "green innovations" and children's activities. The Green Homes Festival will offer expert workshops and demonstrations on solar and wind energy, home and vehicle efficiency, urban farming, composting, and more!
Kicking off at 10 a.m. and celebrating sustainable living until 6 p.m., this event is FREE to the public. Exhibits, workshops, art activities, and street entertainment offer fun for the entire family as you learn how to reduce your home's energy costs while you help protect the planet. Highlights include:
- 26 workshops with regional experts in sustainable homebuilding, home and vehicle efficiency, solar and wind energy, keeping bees and chickens, urban farming, composting—and more! New this year to the festival are our Family workshops that will inspire the "whole gang" to get involved in sustainable living.
- Paint a Metro Arts in Transit bus with an eco-themed mural alongside nationally recognized artist Charlie Houska
- NEW! "Made From Scratch" Green Marketplace featuring home décor and gifts made by area crafters and produce grown by local farmers
- Solar car races and other hands on children's activities with local non profit organizations
- Local, healthy, and sustainably-produced treats served in a shaded food court with live entertainment throughout the day!
