Re: [Video] VAWA passes House!

Our pressure worked!
Thanks to the petition signatures of tens of thousands of supporters throughout the country, the House just passed the comprehensive, bipartisan Violence Against Women Act. This crucial legislation is now heading to President Obama's desk to become law.
Watch the video of my appearance on MSNBC talking about VAWA yesterday and share it with your friends on Facebook or Twitter now to show what we accomplished:
In November, voters in Missouri and across the country -- including millions of women -- made their voices heard. They voted against extremism that said we don't need a minimum wage, and that women don't need equal pay for equal work or access to emergency contraception. And they voted against a Republican Party leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives that decided the Violence Against Women Act just wasn't important enough to renew.
It's been nearly one year since the Senate voted to renew this critical bill. For nearly a full year, Republicans in the U.S. House dragged their feet, refusing to even vote on the Senate-passed bill -- finally just letting it die before the new year.
This happened because of the commitment Americans from all walks of life showed to protecting women and families. And you have my commitment that as we tackle more of the important issues facing the country, I'll be calling on your help again soon.
All the best,
