Future Climate Temp USA Map

FORECASTED StLouis Summer Temps Year 2100

Do You plan on Living in StLouis Region in 2100?  If you do, prepare to be 9.84 degrees warmer in the Summer months.

The average temperature is projected to rise from the current average summer temp of 86.85 degrees to 96.69 degrees.

Climate Change will cause the Average Temp of close to 100 degrees every Summer Day for StLouis in 2100

This means that it will be like living in Pharr, Texas 1,100 plus miles away close to the USA Mexico Border  that has an average temp of 96.69 degrees.

Whats this mean for Missourians?  Have you ever visited Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona?  Remember the scenery of the High Plains Desert?

High Plains Desert Scenery by scotty-Will this be the new look of Missouri in 2100 after climate change causes Ave Summer temperature to rise 9.84 degrees?
Will this be the new look of Missouri in 2100 after climate change causes Ave Summer temperature to rise 9.84 degrees?

Whats this mean for the Missouri Farmers and Ranchers?  Per lessons I learned from the " Rotational Grazing " Practices in locations like Arizona that average 15 acres to raise a beef animal, (compared to the Missouri average of 5 acres needed to raise a beef animal).  The cost of beef will increase even more  since Missouri Ranchers and Farmers will not be able to raise as many cattle per acre.

Still think climate change doesn't or won't affect the State of Missouri?  What will you eat in the Future when nothing will grow on our Farmlands?

CHECK OUT "THE TURNING POINT," NEW ARTICLE IN ROLLING STONE A MUST-READ!

CHECK OUT AL GORE'S NEW
ARTICLE IN ROLLING STONE >

CHECK OUT "THE TURNING POINT," MY NEW ARTICLE IN ROLLING STONE. IT'S A MUST-READ!

Dear Reader,
As a Climate Reality activist, you are truly at the front lines of powering the social revolution for climate action. And today, I wanted to write to you for two important reasons.
First: thank you! Thank you for taking the time to turn your passion for our climate's future into action.
Second: I've written a new article in the next issue of Rolling Stone magazine, and I wanted to make sure you had a chance to check it out before it hits newsstands on Friday.
Recently, the news about the climate crisis has included some hard things to read -- like the announcement by scientists that the collapse of the West Antarctic ice sheet is now irreversible. But we don't have time or reasons to feel despair; that's just another form of denial, paralyzing action. As you'll see in my article, I'm extremely hopeful for the future of our great planet. Sometimes it's worth reminding ourselves that the solutions to this climate crisis are right in front us, right here, right now, and I wanted to share this good news with people like you who are fighting for a clean-energy future.
So please, take a few minutes to read this article. I hope that when you do you'll take the time to share it with friends, family, and others who are helping to create a healthy and sustainable future for all of us.
Thanks again for all the hard work that you do. Together, we can create lasting change. And that's just one more reason I'm hopeful this year.
Sincerely,
Al Gore
Founder and Chairman

In the struggle to solve the climate crisis, a powerful, largely unnoticed shift is taking place

Russel Brands Revolutionary Ideas Gain Speed

BBC Interview-Actor Russell Brand talks about how change is needed in the Political Structure and points out how the current system is corrupt and does not represent the people anymore.  Simple facts of how the Will of the Corporations influence in the Politics and what is stopping the needed progress to ensure all the Freedoms that are being robbed from the people.

Here are some of the places I go to find information on money in politics and who is supporting who:  http://www.opensecrets.org/ and http://www.followthemoney.org/

I encourage everyone to look at the donors of the Politician you plan to vote for.  You too will have the a-hah moment and then realize why our political system is in a total dysfunction.

When corporations give millions to a politicians slush fund and buy the votes of our politicians.

Humanitys Greatest Challenge

Will 2013 Blog Action Day be a success?  Of course it will be this years subject is Humanitarian in Nature and is a perfect fit for addressing Humanity's Greatest Challenge yet undertaken by Mankind.
The continued threat of Global Warming on the Worlds Food Supply caused by extreme weather.
I recently wrote about the changing weather patterns that I link to global warming and my experiences growing up on a Ranch in North Missouri.  I mentioned simple facts that cannot be denied: We do not have prolonged periods of cold weather that keeps the snow that falls from melting 'normally', we have more ice and less snow, and we are feeling the effects of climate change.
And now it is effecting our Nation's Food Supply.  Just recently 4 feet of snow fell in the western plains[1].  The Snow was so deep and came so early that tens of thousands of cattle were killed- a tragedy for the Ranchers and their herds.

This is not only a loss of income for the Ranchers and the businesses in the area; it is going to affect the prices of the Nations Food Stock.
While it may be normal for 4 feet of snow fall in the Western Plains.  It is not normal for 4 feet of snow fall this early in the year.  The snowfall came so early and was unexpected for both the Ranchers and Cattle they were ill equipped and still ill equipped since our Government has shut down[2]- removing all the aid that is deserving for the bestricken Ranchers.
The normal pattern of how animals grow their winter coats that usually grow middle to late fall, had not yet fully developed.  So the cattle were out there with jean jackets on instead of down filled winter coats.  Just like a human would freeze to death so did the cattle and wildlife.

Did you notice the Natural Weather pattern was altered-
Winter came earlier and more severe.
This is not the normal weather pattern.
To help my readers understand how extreme weather affects the daily shopping routine at the local Schnucks and Dierbergs hometown grocery stores let me share a little background on Beef production.
  • A loss of 1 steer will produce an average of 800 pounds of beef.  10,000 steers produce 8,000,000[3] lbs of meat that American Families need to eat for survival.
  • Supply and Demand determines the markets[4].
So yes Global Warming does affect us in StLouis even though we were not directly in the Last Path of the extreme weather patterns caused by Global Warming from the burning of Fossil Fuels that create CO2[6] see IPCC 5th assessment report[7].
One of several reasons why the air around St. Louis is poor are the many coal-fueled power stations based on both the Missouri and the Mississippi Rivers. This one, the Labadie Power Plant, is on the Missouri, slap in the middle of an otherwise pristine view from Klondike Park, Defiance. Richard Keeling
Labadie Dirty Coal Plant Photo by:Richard Keeling
the Show-Me State, year-over-year emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from power plants rose 3 percent. Leading the way was Missouri's largest coal-burning power plant, Ameren Missouri’s 2,400-megawatt Labadie power station.

Labadie plant among top emitters of greenhouse gases-StLouis Post Dispatch

It is going to hit us where it will hurt us Humans the most [in a struggling economy] in our bank accounts when we go to the grocery store.
Lucky for us there are things we can do to lessen the effects of the Extreme Weather that is causing Global Warming and the damage from Climate Change.

Yes StLouis can make a difference in Humanity's Greatest Challenge.
Simple acts of reducing the energy needed for your home does make a difference because less energy needed is less Dirty Coal that is burned to create the electricity StLouis Needs.  This means that the 4th most polluting coal plant in the USA[8] that is located just a measly 45 minutes to the west of StLouis will need to burn less coal which is the biggest form of CO2 emissions[9].  Here are just 4 simple acts that have the biggest influence in reducing Climate Change caused by Global Warming:
  • So the little act of changing a light bulb to a new style that uses less energy can help as well as turning off unused gadgets- 10% reduction of coal burnt electricity.
  • Beefing Up {staying on the Ranch Theme} the insulation in your home or office will mean less electricity is needed-Weatherizing your home has additional benefits as well-15-30% reduction of coal burnt electricity.
  • Installing a clean energy solar system will also dramatically reduce the CO2 Pollution-greatest savings for bank account and reduced CO2 emissions 90-100% of reduction of coal burnt electricity.
I realize that #2 and #3 have sizeable investment hurdles.  Luckily we have a local program in StLouis to help with making Energy Efficiency, Energy Conservation, and Clean Energy Resources possible for our Area.  This is not your normal go to the bank for a loan financing.  It is better!  This program, Set the PACE StLouis[11] is geared to help local people do their part to reduce climate change and save money.  Its a match made in heaven and just what the doctor ordered.
This program will not only:
  • Save you money on Reducing the energy needs for your Building.
  • It will improve the Value of your Property
  • You will have MORE money- because the Loan Payment Charges are lower than the price you were paying for the energy.
If you could do all those things and reduce the Dirty Coal that produces the most CO2 Pollution from being burned what is not to like about such a program?  When more people are joining in and making a difference we will be meeting and mitigating the Humanity's Greatest Challenge

Voters are Responsible for Shutdown~Lesson Learned~BlameGame

Yes I said and do mean that.  The Tea Party and their fellow GOP cronies were elected by the People.  So I point the finger in the blame game back at 'We the People' the Voting Public for electing these clowns into office.

I will admit that when I first learned about the Tea Party. I believed they were making a few valid points.  Though it was not enough for me to contribute $Money$ to support their political endeavors.  Some of the info was at least worth looking into.

Like any informed Voter studying the Issues that are affecting the USA and its Interests.  I want the facts-not the hype from the Media Networks.  I learned long ago when I started studying the effects of Climate Change that it was the Humans Fault. (IPCC-The IPCC report shows the Man Made CO2 is creating warming temperatures Worldwide )

I've written many green blog posts on Climate Change and the Causes and never understood why more efforts to end wars over Oil, Clean Energy Jobs, and protecting America's Greatest asset "We The People" were not adopted and enacted by our Elected Officials.

I had to know why wouldn't any elected official who campaigns on what's best for the American Public and then FAIL to:create and enact laws and regulations to support the endeavor.  To understand and research this topic I luckily found the websites: Open Secrets and Follow the Money.

I had the Ah-hah Moment

I honestly couldn't believe the amount of money Big Business and the Oil Industry was giving to our Elected Officials.  And when I look at the Government Shutdown created by the GOP and the Tea Party Members.  I realized these are the same people who are taking the most money from the Fossil Fuel Industry.

Coincidence or Fact learn for yourself from the people at: Open Secrets and Follow the Money.

I rest my case.

Sincerely,
Scotty

My Take-ACA with Doc and Nurse comments

  • When I have a health question I go to the people that work in the field for answers to my questions.  Here is the responses in re to a few of my questions I asked to a Doctor and an RN.
Sonny Saggar quote, She's right. The ACA is as big as Roosevelt's New Deal in the 30s

    Scotts Contracting

Good Evening Mr Sagar, The ACA has been in all the news as of late. On a personal level it seems like a good deal. My Mother, RN Doctors office manager, from a small town where I grew up says, "its a lot of paperwork and they added a staff member". She also said,"with more preventive care will help in the end". When I mentioned your place Downtown and all the healthy activities that are going on in your building. She said that. "the ACA encourages a Healthy Lifestyle and is part of the preventive actions". What are your thoughts, is this a good thing for people? Have a good evening. Scotty ps: She also commended you for your Health Conscious endeavors.

thank you for your thoughts and for re-affirming what all I've read and heard about it. I honestly can't believe the Republicans are fighting it so hard. Anyway...Have a good evening and a Great Week. Peace out.

I don't think (85%) they are going to shut down the Govt for any reason or delay the Oct deadline. It won't pass or be signed into effect. Its all smoke and mirrors. I've personally been enjoying they way they have been making fools of themselves and hope others are seeing it also.

Agreed things usually turn out that way. My bigger concern is the Climate after reading the last news by the UN climate change folks. They painted a pretty grim future. We all may need the health care.
can I share this conversation with others who may be interested in the ACA thingy?
  • Sonny Saggar

    Sonny Saggar

    Of course
I do have some Republican friends who are not all bad Paul McKee for example.
  • Scotts Contracting

    Scotts Contracting

Thank You for answering my questions about the ACA act. /// I'm an X republican voter and proud that I voted for Mr Obama in the last election. /// Mr McKee has a very grand vision that I've found leaves little room for a small company to invest in the area. Ex1: 2 of his properties are adjacent to one of my clients properties and his organization has slowed the redevelopment of their properties by not maintaining the buildings and allowing drug dealers to use them as a base of operations. Ex2:Their company also has unrealistic pricing of their properties- specifically empty lots that adjoin other good properties that keep existing property from expanding or improving on that immediate area. In some of the other areas I do approve of what I have witnessed. I do admit it is a Grand Vision for the area.
  • Sonny Saggar

    Sonny Saggar

Unfortunately there will be some teething pain, and some people will get upset, but the grand vision is what must take precedence.

controlling the market is just what the ACA is attempting to get rid of-comparing one to the other. And is very similar to what they are doing in the area in re the buildings.

My Climate Change Experiences verified by IPCC

I use my personal experiences and the Climate Scientists

vouch for and uphold my observations.

I can remember when I was young growing up on the Family Cattle Ranch in North Missouri.
The Winters were long and the Snow Drifts were Huge (way over my head creating perfect
opportunities for Snow Forts and Tunnels in the Back Yard).

The Bad Winter Weather I experienced growing up, started in November and Lasted
until the month of March and into April it was 4-5 months of Brutal Winter Weather.
Winters were so cold that Farm Equipment wouldn't start even though they were plugged
into heaters all night.

High Desert Pic-Will be Missouris Future with Climate Change

Circa year 2000- The Weather now (since the early
to mid 80's) I do not feel we have had extended
periods of cold temperatures in Missouri that keep
the snow that falls during the Winter months from thawing
out within a few days. Scotty

It also seems to me that, "the precipitation we now get
has more Ice with less Snow

and seems to melt within weeks- nowadays it seems faster melting times than ever
before in my memory. I can actually say I haven't seen any snow last longer than a
week per my daily observations and mental notes.

We now know Global Warming ie: Climate Change caused by "Exhaust Gases or
GHG's Emissionsfrom using Fossil Fuels from Coal and Oil called CO2 is the major
cause of the warmed temperatures that are causing the: Extreme Weather Patterns-
Droughts, Floods, Increased Summertime Temperatures, etc

Read the new IPCC Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change published
September 27,2013

So I asked myself-

"Why don't the Governments and Politicians of the World
act to reduce these GHG Emissions?"

I can't speak for the other countries in the World, but
I will point out some facts I have been preaching now for months.

The Rich and Powerful Fossil Fuel Industry supports Politicians both Democrat and

Republican, which keep the Politicians in-line and in the Pockets of the Coal and Oil
Industriesthrough Donations for Re-Elections, Pet Projects, etc.

Read and Research for yourself at: Dirty Energy Money
http://dirtyenergymoney.com/view.php?type=congress

Global Warming and Climate Change is Science the GOP

can't wish away- Politicians need to: "Step away from the

Monetary Feed Trough filled by Big Oil and Big Coal"

The National Academy reports concluded that

"scientific evidence that the Earth is warming-is now overwhelming.

Party affiliation does not change that fact
